What a fun birthday surprise! The little ducklings hatched on my birthday!
There were 4 cute little ducklings. It was so neat to watch them. So cute and fluffy!

Only 4 of the 10 eggs hatched. We anxiously waited to see if the others would hatch, but they never did. We think it was the record breaking heat that was too much for the other eggs. (We read that the eggs needed the right temperature the whole time - too hot or too cold and they wouldn't make it.) So that was a little sad. But the ducklings that did hatch were so adorable! We are glad we got the pictures and videos because that evening they left and we haven't seen them since. We miss our duck and her ducklings (after a month of having her right by our door, she felt like a part of our family) but we know they are enjoying life in the nearby pond.
What a neat experience! We thought it was so great to have had a duck and her nest in our yard!
