Jeff's 30th Birthday

Because we were in the hospital with Packer for Jeff's 30th Birthday, we didn't get a chance to celebrate Jeff and his 30 years of life.  We had a little birthday celebration for him a week later.

For dinner we went to Cafe Rio to get some Sweet Pork Nachos.  We then let him open his presents and read his LONG card that we wrote him on a calculator paper roll.  It was fun watching him unwind and read it. It took quite awhile and then he had to "Be Kind, Please Rewind" the paper.  He he he.

Daddy and his best birthday present - his son, Packer!
For his dessert he wanted Peppermint Fudge Brownies in a jar.  Not the best picture, but they were pretty tasty.
Happy 30th Birthday Jeff/Daddy!
We are so grateful for you and and love you very much!

Packer's first grin

While taking some pictures of my handsome little boy, he gave me a cute little grin!  I was so glad I got it on camera!  I love it!  What a sweet boy!

Coming Home

We were released from the hospital on Monday, January 28th around 11am.
They didn't let children under 14yr old come to visit at the hospital because the flu and RSV are bad this year.  It was hard not to see my girls during that time and we were anxious for the girls to meet their brother.
 Getting ready to leave
 He is so handsome!
 Our picture before we left.
Little Packer in his car seat.  I always forget how tiny they are!
 Ready to go home
We went to our apartment first to wait until we could "officially" get our keys to the house.
Jeff and his family were so helpful during this move!  I was at the hospital while he and his family moved our stuff from our apartment into the house.  It was a crazy, exhausting weekend, but so wonderful and I am so grateful for all those who helped out!
Packer got to see our apartment before we officially moved out.
While we waited, we cleaned and packed up the last of our stuff.  Family again helped out so much!  I can't even begin to express my gratitude for all they did!  Then at 4pm Connie came over to give us the key to our house so that the house was officially ours!!!  We were so excited!
At our new home with our cute new baby!

We have the key to our home!
The girls then came to the new home to meet their brother.  Aliyah was instantly in love with her baby brother and was so eager to care for him.  She shared her blanket with him and was excited to hold him.  She was just in awe of him and loved being his big sister.
Poor Hailey was sick and we had to keep her away from Packer at first.  It was so hard!
Here is our first family picture - all of us together - in our new home!
Welcome home Packer and girls!

Packer Gilbert Thomson

Our cute little Packer was born on Jeff's Birthday!
I went into the hospital late Friday night (January 25th) after we had started to move a few of our things into our new home.  It was a busy night for the hospital (the nurse told me there were 45 babies born that night).  They had started to send ladies to other hospitals.  Luckily they got me in and started my epidural right away and then at 1:26am on 1/26 (Jeff's birthday) Packer was born!!!  He weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and was 20 inches long.  He has dark, spikey hair, is very healthy and is as cute as can be!  We are very excited to have him here!
Packer is very strong!  He lifted his head off my shoulder to look around at the room shortly after he was born!  He also grabbed the doctors stethoscope and the doctor said he had quite the grip as he tried to pry his hand off!

 Happy Birthday Daddy and Packer!
They are exactly 30 years apart!!!
 Can you see the resemblance?

We love you Packer!!!

2013

I thought I'd start a new blog this year (it will give me more room for pictures!)  Already it's been quite the exciting year - new blog, new home, new baby, new 30 yr old, new adventures!
