Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Carter

We went to go visit Great Grandpa and Grandma Carter.
We had a good time visiting with them.
The kids loved playing with the little dishes and making them pretend food.  They also loved playing in the dress up clothes and wearing all the high heeled shoes!
Great Grandma pulled out her collection of beautiful old hats and we had fun trying them on.

We had some ice cream and then headed home.
Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!  We really enjoyed our visit!

6 months

I can't believe my little boy is 6 months now!  Where does time go?
He is such a happy, smiley boy.  We love him so much!
Here he is at his 6 month checkup - healthy and happy.

On Packer (and Daddy's) half birthday we decided to have some donuts to celebrate.  They were gourmet donuts, so we cut them in pieces so we could try a little of each one: Oreo, Orange Cream, Lemon Orange, and Strawberry Cheesecake.  Yum!
Poor Packer fell asleep so he didn't get to try any.
But Aliyah got some pictures of him before he fell asleep.
She loves to take pictures of him.  Here is Packer on his 6 month birthday.

As I was looking at the cute pictures she got of Packer, I saw this and it made me laugh!  Packer is not the only subject of her photos - ha ha!
Happy 6 month Birthday Packer and happy half birthday Daddy!  We love you!!!!

Thomson Family Camp-out

We had been wanting to do some camping with the kids for awhile (and the kids wanted to sleep in a tent) so we decided since we have a backyard, we would try a campout in the backyard first to see how everyone would do.  We decided it would be a great Pioneer Day activitiy.  We had such a great time!
Aliyah was so excited that she colored and typed this for us and hung it on the fridge.  She got all her stuff ready that morning and set it by the door so that we could be all ready that evening.
The kids had a blast playing in the tent.  I think that was the highlight for them.

Even Packer enjoyed it!

That evening we had some s'mores, set up our bedding, Daddy told us stories, and we went to sleep.  We made it through the night!  We only had to go inside once - for a quick bathroom stop.
That morning we had a big, yummy breakfast outside.
We really enjoyed our first family camp out!

Flamingo Day

We've had a couple of Flamingo Day celebrations this year.  We did a Flamingo Breakfast when the Nairs were here so we could celebrate together.

Then we had another Flamingo Day celebration on Flamingo Day (actually we celebrated it with the Sorensens the day before)
Hailey with Pink frosting all over her lips

Packer doesn't have any pink on, but was still enjoying the day!
Happy Flamingo Day!

Outside our Home

We love having our own yard!  It has been so great!  We finally had our fence finished and it has been so nice to play in our backyard.
Here are the girls, cooling off in their swimming pool!  A great summer activity!
Jeff has done a great job of making our yard look nice!
These next few pictures are out of order, but it shows some of the beauties in our yard so far.

I love this picture! ha ha!  Hailey dressed in her swimming suit, glasses, and purse, with her rake ready to help Daddy!
Aliyah and Hailey both working hard in the yard!

Our garden (early this summer, just after things started to sprout)

Hailey saying "Home".  We love that she says this every time we come home!  What a cutie!

Dress up

These first two pictures aren't of Packer dressing up, but I thought they were cute and wanted to add them to the other cute pictures on this post!

Aliyah dressed up as one of the Barbie Musketeers.  She used her crown as a mask until we made her a better mask.  I thought it was pretty clever of her, and kind of funny to see her walk around like this!
Wonderwoman and Aurora
Aliyah just got a pair of Wonderwoman boots and loves dressing up as her now.
Hailey wanted her picture too.  She loves to dress up, just like her big sister.
Aliyah after a Rapunzel princess birthday party she went to.
Daddy and Packer dressed up in their Superman shirts
Aliyah's "rainbow hair"
And Aliyah has been fascinated with Volcanoes lately, so we had a Volcano day where we colored pictures, watched a Bill Nye show on Volcanoes, learned about them, and even made one.  We had a "blast"!
